As an addendum: A Huge, yet simple revelation about fear

As an addendum to yesterday’s post 5 thoughts about fear- I want to share a HUGE revelation with you.

This is really deep, and really huge, yet very very simple.

So, I ask right now, that anyone reading this, by the name of Jesus – this revelation would be imparted. Some things are not taught, they are caught. So, with this, I pray whoever reads this would CATCH the hugeness of this post.

Jesus HIMSELF is the answer to all our fears.

Not a doctrine, not a theory, not a denomination, not a new self-help technique, not our own will – although we can and should exercise it.

HIM.

Period.

The most powerful verse I could ever leave you with, is this one: (and I love this translation…)

Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of (pain), and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 1 John 4:18 New Living Translation

Perfect Love. Expels… ALL fear?

Where in the world can perfect love be found? I need that. I know all sorts of imperfect love, including my own Ah, that such a thing as perfect love existed…

A few verses prior to this (v.16) tells us that God IS Love.

Jesus, Emmanuel (God WITH us), IS LOVE.

He. IS. Love. (Emphasis on the word IS, here.)

Love is a person.

WOW.

Ultimately, when facing fear, WE DON”T HAVE TO FIGHT! We CAN, because we have been given the power to do so, BUT REALLY, ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS RUN INTO THE PRESENCE OF OUR GOD, BECAUSE PERFECT LOVE (JESUS) EXPELS ALL FEAR. In HIS PRESENCE, FEAR CANNOT AND DOES NOT EXIST.

The only time Jesus showed fear was during the cross and the events leading up to it – and why would that be? Because God had to separate Himself from Jesus during those moments, because during those moments, he TOOK ON the sin of the world so as to conquer it ONCE and for all! And God cannot be in the presence of sin. Did you know the word SIN merely means “Separate?” What happens the moment we are separate from God? We are vulnerable to fear.

Fear is expelled by a PERSON, and that person is Jesus.

When we live with Him and In him – this is when we live out the fullness of the verse that says Perfect love casts out Fear. Light and Dark cannot occupy the same space.

I’m going to do the word switcharoo again here, read the verse again.

(With Jesus) there is no fear, because (Jesus) expels all fear. If we are afraid… (it) shows that we have not fully experienced (Jesus).

A greater gift, I cannot give you, than to point you to this amazing person. This person, if/when you truly know Him, you can’t help but love him- because he first loved you! Jesus who fought for you, conquered all for you, and stands with you. Stand with Him!

Julia Goguen - This is what my friend Sarah Gurley Brown has been sharing for a long time, love that girl. Also, I learned that whatever I feared HAD TO COME MY WAY. There was no other way for me to see it, and be free. For
God to give me over to my fears felt like abandonment, however, when I came out the other side without being able to change or control things, I learned that to be free from fear was to walk through the middle of it, come hail or high water and see that in God, nothing that was of value was lost. Also, when I faced a lifelong fear, like losing my sisters, I was on the verge of fear returning into my soul like a spear. BUT GOD WAS THERE AND PEACE CAME OVER ME. This is the peace that passes understanding, for my sister was still gone and I was still heartbroken, yet I rode on a wave of peace that I was loved and somehow, everything was going to be all right. Went right past my consciousness and intellect and calmed my soul and saved my sanity. WOW, now that is the true example of the word AWESOME.
